Job Ad: Modern Languages and Classics – Assistant Professor (German), St. Mary’s University

The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a three-year, full-time, contractually limited term appointment in German at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1st, 2021 (subject to budgetary approval). We are seeking an individual with a primary scholarly profile and active research agenda in German Intercultural Studies, German as a Second Language Education, and/or contemporary German literatures and cultures, a demonstrated record of effectiveness in teaching German language and culture at all undergraduate levels, and an active research agenda. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research and departmental service, and play a lead role in delivery of the German minor. There will also be opportunity for the successful candidate to participate in the Department’s newly created Intercultural Studies Program. Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in German or a related discipline, have previous experience teaching German, be fluent in German and English, and able to deliver courses in both languages.
