The Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies at the University of British Columbia is now accepting applications for a non-renewable 9-month position as lecturer in German (start date: August 1, 2016).
The successful candidate will be expected to fulfill service duties as assigned by the Head and to teach undergraduate courses, including lower-level German language classes, a film course (GERM 304), and a German cultural studies course (GERM 408).
Candidates must have a PhD before commencing the position and experience teaching undergraduate courses. We have a particular interest in candidates with strong commitments and demonstrated potential to achieving excellence in teaching and academic supervision of undergraduate students. The teaching load will be 18 credits across the period of appointment, distributed as a 3/3 load in the 2016 Winter session. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an excellent record of teaching and service.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
