The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to be presenting the Germanistische Begegnungstagung Kanada USA in Toronto from April 4-8, 2017. This event will bring together scholars of Germanistik, Linguistik and German Studies from universities in Germany, Canada and the United States for discussions on matters related to the teaching of German language, literature and culture. These discussions will centre on current research in the relevant fields as well as the challenges facing the scholars working in these fields in their respective institutional, cultural and social contexts.
Applications to participate in this event are being accepted until September 30th.
Applicants being asked to submit proposals for 5-10 minute statements that will serve as the “jumping off” points for discussion in the various working groups.
Successful applicants will have the following costs covered:
- Economy class travel to and from Toronto from the participant’s home university;
- Accommodation in Toronto booked by DAAD.
Please note: participation is limited to permanent staff of Canadian universities who have received their PhD.
