Job Posting: Asst. Prof. of Germanic Studies, Univ. of British Columbia

The Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies at the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Germanic Studies, effective July 1, 2018, at the rank of Assistant Professor. Adding to departmental strengths, the successful candidate will have demonstrated research potential in German Cultural Studies, Literary Theory, or Media History. The ability to teach film courses and intellectual history is a definite asset.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree. Native or near-native fluency in German is required. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct scholarly research leading to publication, engage in graduate and undergraduate student supervision, teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, engage in curriculum and program development, and contribute to service. Candidates must be able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness.
