CAUTG/APAUC Name Change

The Executive committee of the CAUTG would like to invite everyone to a Townhall meeting on Friday, April 16, 4-5 pm EST, to discuss our proposal to change the association’s name.

The CAUTG Executive proposes a new name that reflects the breadth of our field and our professional activities and that includes the most widely accepted name of the field, German Studies: German Studies Canada/Études Allemandes Canada. The proposal will be moved at this year’s ABM during virtual Congress in Edmonton. We would like to invite everyone to discuss this name change prior to our Annual Meeting.

We have put together a document (attached) that details the rationale for the name change, as well as the steps involved in this process.
